The IOSH Managing Safely® qualification is assessed in two parts:

1. Multiple-Choice Examination
  • 30 questions

  • 60 marks available

  • Pass mark: 36 out of 60 (60%)

  • Typically completed within 45 minutes

2. Practical Risk Assessment

Learners must complete a workplace-based risk assessment, demonstrating how they apply course knowledge in a real-life setting. This must usually be submitted within two weeks of completing the course.

Upon successful completion of both components, learners are awarded the IOSH Managing Safely® certificate.
